These toothbrushes were great for after my gum graft surgery. They are extremely soft. The bristles are quite dense too, so you need to rinse extra good, (use your fingers to spread the bristles), then dab on a clean towel to get the excess water out. I've not had any mold or problem with them. I'm so glad these were available, they helped so much.
