I get a LOT of plaque! I've tried everything to get rid of it. I brush and floss, use an electronic toothbrush go to the periodontist. I'm very diligent but still the plaque comes back and quickly. I read a lot about trying to change the environment in your mouth to make it inhospitable to plaque and I don't know why dentists aren't doing more in this area. Dentistry really seems like a backward profession to me. Of all the many dentists I've been to not one of them is aware of or looking into this angle to reduce plaque. I've tried kelp pills on myself and on my dog (proden plaque off). They worked very well for my dog, but the both of us didn't feel very well taking them. I studied more and learned that probiotics might help. This product does help. I'd say I have about a 30% improvement. I take 2 a day at night after I brush my teeth and before I go to bed. I was thinking I might see even more improvement if I take 4 a day (add 2 in the morning), but they are kind of expensive. I still might try it. I'll let you know if I do. They taste very good too, almost a treat to take them. I hope there is more research done with probiotics and other alternatives by the professional dental community because I think this is a promising path.
