For about 45 cents per kit, these are a good buy. These are not “professional” quality tools, but are all sterilized and handy to have. From dentist point of view these are perfect for emergency exams or a quick look-see at someone.Excellent for school exams or “missions of mercy” providing care for needy patients. The kit has 3 items, an explorer (pick), mirror, and tweezers. The best item is the “pick”, which is a 5DE explorer in Dental speak. This one seems to be carbon steel which they used to be before autoclave sterilization became the standard of care. Carbon steel tens to rust, not so pretty. The mirror is OK, good for an exam, but not any procedures. This is a regular mirror- which is a reflective coating on the crack of the glass. When doing close up procedures this gives a double reflection. Good dental mirrors have a rhodium coating on the glass- termed a front surface mirror- no double image. The tweezer is OK to pick up items, but not for many procedures. Would be fine for a large sprinter, but nothing really small. So are these handy to have- answer is yes. Can they replace real dental tool- No.For the price I like them. I have a few bags in each car, tool box, and kitchen drawer. For 45 Cents I give them away to friends an neighbors. This is one of those “If I only had” items that can have multiple uses.
