Average In Price & Quality...This toothpaste was recommended to me by my periodontist after I had to have periodontal surgery performed on my upper jaw. Following the surgery, I became extremely sensitive to cold in that quadrant of my mouth. The dentist placed a material along to teeth to calm the pain down, but also recommended that I begin using this daily. He also recommended that I stay away from my regular brand of toothpaste since it was abrasive and would cause even more damage to the exposed area where the pain was occurring.Although it took a few months, I can now drink and eat cold items as if nothing had ever happened. The hook, so to speak, that this needs to be used at every brushing without exception. The active ingredient fills in minute spaces in the tooth, and will continue to fill these holes only if the material is used regularly. The consistency of this particular product is that of a paste style toothpaste and it has a pleasant, but not overpowering mint flavor. The paste is a little soft, which takes some time to get used to, but overall it works well. If you don't like paste and prefer gels, there is another of their products that I will review that is a gel type toothpaste. For the past few years I have began to develop more sensitive teeth. This is due to some minor gum recession. There are a number of things that can cause sensitive teeth and gum recession is just one. None the less, this tooth paste has reduced my sensitivity to the point that I don't even notice it anymore. The only downfall of this product is that I don't find that it cleans your teeth as well as some other brands of regular tooth paste. Now obviously this is made to reduce sensitivity and that it does well. So what I have found that works is that I used this tooth paste once a day and a regular tooth paste once a day. I find that using it once a day works for me, but you may have to experiment yourself to see.Works wellmet my needs for dental hygieneI have used Sensodyne since I tried it several years ago. I have always had very sensitive teeth and multiple tooth repairs over the years due to soft teeth and enamel wearing away quicker than most of my family. Sensodyne toothpaste really does help a lot in reducing the pain my teeth give me, sometimes eliminating it so much I hardly even notice it at all. This particular variety which seems to be an original type rather than the more updated styles- works just as well- and was a bit cheaper even. Buying in quantity also helped - bringing the price down to even lower (per tube) than what I've paid at major discount department stores.I purchased a pack of four Fresh Mint, and I am not certain that these are legitimate. They came in four separate boxes, which were not sealed. The boxes were slightly crushed as well. When I first used the toothpaste, it tasted different. As I have an allergic reaction to the ingredient SLS, I specifically buy this brand, as it typically doesn’t have SLS. Immediately after my first brush with this toothpaste, I began to feel a reaction - tingling on my lips and gums, which is typical of the reaction I have when I use toothpaste with SLS.I ended up throwing these all away. I would not recommend buying from here.I' M 64. Therefore, everything about me is OLD! This includes my teeth. I stared having big problems with sever pain sensitivity in some of my molars, every time I drank something cold. I went to my dentist to see what the problem was. I found out my gums were receding. This meant that part of the root (no enamel,) was exposed. This was what was causing the pain. She recommended SENSODYNE . I got some and started using it. It works great!! Now, I'm still old but, at least my teeth don"t hurt!I like it
